It’s time to choose our next leadership team. In 2026, we will be electing a new:

  • Secretary
  • Vice President
  • Treasurer

ACE Election Procedures

The nomination period for the above officers is open from February 2, 2026 through March 31, 2026.

Candidates must have been members in good standing during the past 3 consecutive years. A member may nominate themselves or be nominated by another ACE member who is in good standing. A member in good standing during that period simply means that no formal action has been taken against the member by the Disciplinary Committee. More detailed information is provided under Considerations for Potential Candidates at the bottom of this notice or by contacting the ACE Nominating Committee.

A member may nominate themselves; it is not important to have someone else do it and there is no need to provide any qualifications with the nomination. Emailed nominations are preferred. The only requirement is that the person doing the nominating must be a member in good standing and provide their own name and ACE member number along with the nominee’s name and ACE member number (if different).

All voting will be done electronically. No ballots will be mailed or accepted by mail. Multimember memberships such as Couple and Family memberships will receive two emails with different voter registration codes. The two emails will have unique voter registration codes and indicate they are either Ballot 1 of 2 or Ballot 2 of 2. Please ensure both emails are used to vote; you cannot vote both ballots with the same email. Where separate names and email addresses are on file, Ballot 2 of 2 will be sent only to the email of the couple or family member with the second valid email address.

Ballots will only be emailed to members who have a valid email address. Note: If you have a spam filter for your email, it is suggested you set it to allow email from vote-now.com. Sending an email to elections@vote-now.com prior to the election should also allow you to receive emails from vote-now.com. The online voting supports all browsers; however, if you use a cell phone and (for example) jump to a candidate platform statement after voting for earlier candidates, your earlier votes may have to be reentered.

As in years past, members may enter anonymous comments about the election process after voting. You can have your email address attached to the comment only (not your ballot information) if you desire a response.

If you do not have a functioning email address on file with ACE, you will NOT receive a mailed ballot. To be able to vote, please leave a telephone message with the ACE management office (469.278.6223), providing your name, ACE membership number and type, and the best phone number and times to get in contact with you. If you have a valid email address, to have a ballot link email sent, please provide it and that will be used to contact you. If you do not have a working email address, please state that in your message, and you will be contacted by an ACE elections representative by phone who will provide the necessary information to allow you to cast your vote via phone.

Please be aware that during Coaster Con 48 and its pre and post-Con events, there may be a delay in response until the following week.

Election results will be available on all ACE media shortly after the election closes on July 15, with the new officers’ term beginning on September 15. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact the ACE Nominating Committee.

Additional resources, requirements and considerations for those interested have also been gathered together, below.

ARTICLE V-Elections

Section 1. No later than February 1 of each even numbered year (hereafter referred to as the election year) the President shall appoint a Nominating Committee consisting of three members in good standing. The Nominating Committee shall promptly select one of its members to serve as Chairperson.

Section 2. From February 2 through March 31 of the election year, any member in good standing, including members of the Nominating Committee, may submit nominations to said committee. On April 1, the Chairperson shall submit to the President the list of nominees decided upon by majority vote of the Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee may exclude nominees only for due cause consistent with the Constitution and its Bylaws.

Section 3. On or about June 15 of the election year, ballots reflecting the nominations, and providing for write-in votes for alternate candidates, shall be sent to all members in good standing. Returned ballots shall be received or completed online no later than July 15 to be valid. Amended 8/2/2018

Section 4. The candidate receiving the most votes for each respective office shall be declared elected. In case of a tie among those receiving the highest number of votes for any office, a run-off election shall be held immediately between those candidates who tied for the highest number of votes for that office.

Section 5. The term of office shall be for two years commencing September 15 of the election year. No person shall serve more than two consecutive terms in the same office.

Section 6. The elected officers shall serve for two years or until their successors are elected.

Section 7. A President who fails to complete a term of office is ineligible to be Immediate Past President.

Section 8. In the event the Nominating Committee submits a list decided upon pursuant to Section 2 which presents not more than one person running as a candidate for each of the four respective elected offices, so that no competitive election is required for any office, then, and not otherwise, by not less than two-thirds vote, the Executive Committee may vote to declare the proposed slate of officers elected by acclamation, without formal election by the members in good standing pursuant to Section 3. Amended 8/15/2012

Annual business meeting reports (or at least the relevant officer portions) and executive committee meeting minutes are an excellent resource to understanding the types of issues that a position faces. The buttons below will take to a collection of these reports going back to at least 2019, with more on the way as we continue to migrate documents over from our old website to this one.

Feel free to contact the officer(s) in the current position(s) you are interested in, many have additional information they would be happy to share. Click the button below to go to the Executive Committee webpage where you can click on the officer's bio-card to start an email.

The Executive Committee

  • Candidates must have been members during the past 3 consecutive years and a member in good standing during that period.
    • Being in “good standing” simply means that no formal action has been taken against the member by the Disciplinary Committee.
    • Candidate memberships must be up to date at the time of nomination. The committee will notify a candidate if there is an issue, so it is important to be nominated in time to ensure all has been resolved before the nomination deadline.
  • It can be quite helpful for an officer to be aware of enough ACE History to maintain historical standards and guidelines when responding to member and park requests. [The office of the ACE Past-President is designed to be a key resource at these times.]
  • Even though this is a “volunteer” organization, officers are expected to attend meetings and events. In addition, all positions require a significant time commitment with specific “deliverables”.
  • A strong volunteer record is frequently helpful for name recognition.
  • Meeting attendance is in general a reimbursable expense.
  • Candidates are expected to make a presentation at the end of the Annual Business Meeting during Coaster Con. If you are unable to attend, it is suggested that you have someone there read your presentation. Presentations will be live streamed and a video will be made available as soon after Coaster Con as possible for all member’s to access.
  • A member may nominate themselves; it is not important to have someone else do it and there is no need to provide any qualifications with the nomination. Emailed nominations are preferred. The only requirement is that the person doing the nominating must be a member in good standing and provide their own name and ACE member number along with the nominee’s name and ACE member number (if different).
