North Central Region (Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota)

Next week, I will be making my first visit to Valleyfair. I will have limited time, but I don't want to miss the park's unique features.

What should I not miss outside of the coasters?

Any must-try food (particularly local eats or libations)?

Any local nearby unique attractions/restaurants that I should visit?

Lost Island has really nice theming.  Be aware that there is very little shade!  

I think they've commented and shown that they've improved shade a little, probably not enough.  However, worth keeping note that Matugani their current headlining coaster hasn't opened for the year yet.  They're waiting for the state to pass it's inspection.

Valleyfair has a Trabant flat ride called the Wheel of Fortune I really enjoyed. I'm a sucker for flat rides and the Trabant rides are uncommon to see these days so it is always worth a ride when I go. Plus it is a Valleyfair original that opened with the park so extra cool!
