That sounds like a great plan!
If you've never been, the River Walk in San Antonio is a pure delight and Fiesta is one of my favorite parks. You really can't go wrong with that combo.
I'm with ya on the desert, my mother-in-law really loves the southwest and the desert. I never really understood the hype of sand interrupted by occasional cactus. To each their own, I suppose!

So the schedules for Six Flags are out and a bit disappointing. I was hoping to get a few Feb-Apr trips on the books but all the parks out West and South have pretty limited operating schedules during those months. Not going to bother flying all the way to California for essentially a long weekend. So we've opted for Six Flags Fiesta Texas in April. Fly in on a Friday, check out San Antonio for the evening, then open and close the park on Sat-Sun. My buddy has some romantic notions about the desert, so we'll likely stay another day so we can drive around and look at cactus and dirt. I myself have been to Texas many times and am not that big of a fan. Too many big belt buckles and tight jeans for my liking, lol.

I've been tempted to go to Cali during the winter to get my coaster fix, but I have family out there and I'm not sure how to explain to them that I flew out there for Twisted Colossus and not them, lol.
I've been looking into doing the Bourbon Trail... It looks like a lot of fun, and I never say no to bourbon!

Right now I'm wishing Six Flags would release their 2026 operation schedules so that I can try to make it to California or Texas for some off-season rides. Outside of that I generally take small regional trips - Nashville, the Bourbon Trail, etc.

For most of us in the region we now must wait a number of months til our parks are opened back up.
So, as the snow falls, what is your favorite thing to do until we can all ride coasters again?
