Marie (Kramer) Jenkins, 61, loving wife of Torrence (Torry) V. Jenkins Jr. of Denver, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Marie joined ACE in the fall of 1993 and went to her first event at Kings Island in 1994. Standing in line to ride The Beast, she met the love of her life, Torry. Over the last 25 years, Marie and Torry enjoyed trips to many new amusement parks across the United States, France, Spain, England, the Netherlands and Germany.
Marie was the Eastern Pennsylvania assistant regional rep for ACE. She was an inspiration for Torry and proved to be a major help with the proofreading of the book on Philadelphia Toboggan Company’s wooden roller coaster builder/designer Herbert Schmeck. (The book is Herbert P. Schmeck: The Forgotten Legacy.)
Marie could always be found the first week of October at Knoebels’ Phoenix Phall Phunfest. Marie was a true thrill seeker and liked drop rides better than roller coasters. Marie also took her first tandem skydive for her 60th birthday.
Marie will truly be missed by all who knew her.

We had the pleasure of knowing Torry and Marie for probably 20 years. Being ACE members, we went to many amusement parks with them, along with others. Of course, the annual Phall Phunfest was the most memorable. I got the feeling that Marie wasn't all that fond of camping but did it anyway because she loved being with our group of 12 to 14 on our adjacent group of campsites for the extended weekend.
We also have a particularly fond memory of a trip we took to Busch Gardens Williamsburg during the ACE Dives event for the opening of Invadr. The four of us got to Williamsburg the afternoon before the event, and after dinner she wanted to stop at a clothing store, so we did. While shopping, Art was looking through some clothes and somehow, it evolved into Marie outfitting Art with several new outfits — clothes he would have not picked out himself. It was almost like the "Marie Makeover." I have a feeling when Art puts on those clothes this summer, it will stir those memories that will be difficult.
Marie always was quick with the one liners that would make you laugh. We will both deeply miss our friend, our "Juanita."
