ACE members were treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of Hersheypark during a special tour of the park’s Service Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Held on the afternoon of Friday, February 6, 2026, this unique experience gave attendees a rare opportunity to explore the spaces where Hersheypark’s rides are maintained, restored and prepared for another season of thrills.

The tour began with a guided walkthrough led by Scott Silar, director of attractions at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, who shared his insight into the extensive off-season work that keeps the park’s attractions operating safely and smoothly. From routine inspections to major refurbishments, attendees gained a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship and expertise required behind the scenes.

One of the highlights of the tour was a visit to the various maintenance areas where ride components are serviced during the off-season. Guests saw firsthand how parts are repaired, rebuilt and prepared for reinstallation across the park’s lineup of attractions.

The behind-the-scenes tour gave attendees a new perspective on ride maintenance.

The group also explored the Service Center’s specialized shops, including the wood shop, steel shop and paint shop. Each area showcased a different aspect of ride maintenance, from fabricating structural components to refinishing ride elements and vehicles with precision and care. Attendees had the opportunity to view ride vehicles up close, including those from Lightning Racer, Comet and Wildcat's Revenge, along with additional equipment undergoing off-season work. Seeing these vehicles outside of their usual on-track environment offered a completely new perspective on their design and engineering.

As an added surprise, attendees were also treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of Reese's Cupfusion. This unexpected bonus gave participants a closer look at the interactive dark ride’s technology, theming and operational elements, rounding out an already memorable experience.

ACE Eastern Pennsylvania extended its gratitude to Scott Silar and the Hersheypark team for providing such an informative and engaging look behind the curtain. Opportunities like this highlight the dedication and expertise that go into creating the experiences guests enjoy each season.
