With the demolition of Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit and documentation attaching Intamin to its replacement, it is no secret a new roller coaster is on the horizon for Universal Studios Florida (Orlando). An announcement by the resort revealed it will follow in the footsteps of its California property and debut a thrill coaster called Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift in 2027.

All that has been seen of this new coaster so far is a car shown at the 2025 IAAPA Expo.

Details are currently scarce. At this point, the only facts known are 360-degree rotating ride vehicles and a 170-foot vertical spike in the vicinity of Universal CityWalk. Aside from a logo, no renderings or videos accompanied the announcement. No doubt more will be revealed as the coaster's opening comes into view.

The ride will be constructed on the former site of Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit — a custom Maurer Rides X-Car that was notorious for being problematic but was also a crowd favorite, owing in part to the freedom it afforded guests when choosing their own soundtracks for the 3,800-foot-long experience, highlighted by a vertical lift and noninverting loop. The coaster gave its last rides in August 2025, and the park's much-criticized Fast & Furious: Supercharged attraction will also close when the new ride debuts.
