Hi everyone! I'm new here and finally embracing my thoosie side. I have never visited Cedar Point before and was considering visiting the park this weekend. Does anyone have hotel recommendations? Any ACE discounts I should look out for? I should add that I have a gold pass from my home park SFGAm that covers Cedar Point, so I'm not sure if there are any discounts associated with that.

Also, since I plan to be there for 1.5 days, (all Saturday and Sunday morning) should I opt for the fast pass or just stick to the regular lines?

Hi Nicole and welcome to ACE!

Cedar Point is an amazing park, and I'm thrilled that you are spending more than one day at the park as you'll need it if you want to experience everything. CP at night is amazing, you're in for a treat.

As far as hotels, I'm not much help there as I tend to drive home rather than pay for a hotel... I try to do everything as cheaply as possible. 😁

As for Fast Pass... You should make the investment if you can, at least for Saturday. The park should be packed and if you really want a shot at getting the best stuff in you'll need it. As for a plan of attack, I generally make the long walk to the back and get all that in first and work my way back up to the front, generally people will do the opposite so you may miss some of the crowd that way.

The gold pass does get you a discount for food I believe and you do have some good options in the park. My personal favorites are Back Beat BBQ by Magnum and Gemini and the Farm House which is located in the back of the park by Maverick and Cedar Creek Mine Ride.

Hope that helps,

Can't wait to hear about your first experience at the park!

Hi Nicole,

Hope all is well.  Congrats on your upcoming journey to one of the premier parks in the country!  I'm always jealous of folks who are going, even though I went over the weekend with our region for an amazing time!  In regards to the hotels, if you stay at a CP owned property (Hotel Breakers, Lighthouse Point - on CP peninsula or Breakers Express, Castaway Bay and Sawmill Creek); they will allow you early entry into the park for ERT on selected rides.  While I'm not sure on ACE discounts on those properties, the ACE discount could help you with getting a room with a property nearby. Milan, OH (down Route 250) is a good place to find quality rooms but on Saturday evenings they are a little more expensive than other nights.  You can check into your favorite hotel reservation site for more information, but make sure you check the map and ratings as properties that aren't "national chains" can run the gamut quality wise.  Good luck with living your best thoosie life this weekend!
