The ACE Executive Committee (EC) held its final in-person meeting for the current term during Coaster Con. This meeting is unique each year as it is split into two sessions — one that addresses new business prior to the beginning of Coaster Con and the second being the old business portion that occurs during the annual business meeting. All current ACE members are invited to attend the business meeting. New this year: The business meeting was live streamed. The EC meeting was brief with very few agenda items. The primary topics of the meeting were (1) a proposal for an international trip in 2027, (2) options to offer a digital copy of RollerCoaster! magazine and (3) ensuring agreement on the direction of ACE News. In addition to these business items, the committee reviewed the strategic plan, volunteer needs and transition planning. Unfortunately, flight delays and cancellations affected the ability of some of the EC members to attend. The meeting was adjourned to continue on Tuesday with the business meeting.
The annual business meeting has two components: (1) old business and (2) new business. During the old business portion, EC members have 90 seconds to share points that they consider important for membership awareness. After they share, the remainder of their four minutes is dedicated to answering questions from the members in attendance. During the new business portion of the meeting, members may propose discussion points relevant to the entire membership of ACE. During this year’s meeting, there were few questions or comments from those in attendance. A recording of this meeting is available at the link provided earlier.
